What is it?
Our Minis Club features children’s “explore and play” classes with a focus on outdoor, sensory, and artistic play. Typically, classes will include an opening circle with a story and short lesson followed by a themed play activity and/or craft. Mini explorers are not expected to sit still!
How does it work?
Classes are offered in series which feature similar topics or themes. Each individual class has a unique activity and lesson. Mini explorers may participate in classes a la carte or may sign up for the whole series.
Do adults stay?
Yes. An adult caregiver is required to stay and is expected to participate hands-on in their mini explorers’ learning activities.
What should we bring?
A water bottle, something to sit on (blanket, tarp, chair, etc), weather appropriate clothing and footwear, and possibly a change of clothes.
What about the weather?
We play outside (even in the winter), as long as it is safe and comfortable to do so. Please dress yourself and explorers to be outside. If instructors know in advance that class will need to be moved indoors, you will be notified via email and a post will be made on our Facebook page. Sometimes indoor/outdoor weather decisions are made last-minute, so it's always best to be prepared. Snow removal at camp is spotty, even if the main roads are clear. If class needs to be canceled or rescheduled due to road conditions, you will be notified via email at least 2 hours prior to class.
